The Commission
Glass canopy to the Lowry Centre entrance.
The Challenge
To provide a very large, high level, shaped glass canopy.
The Solution
We were required to individually and accurately template each canopy panel due to the rake shape and cut-out required. In conjunction with our scaffolding company, we managed to erect a suitable structure to reach this height (4 metres) and take the weight of each panel, including the weight of eight operatives required to install it (in excess of 1 ton). This was accomplished whilst taking every precaution to protect the visitors of The Lowry Centre.
